I like my style grungy and a little unkempt but there is messy and there is messy. My hair is naturally a thick, frizzy blonde fluff ball so I use my ghd straightener to smooth it down every single day and quickly create a natural looking look that is smooth, shiny and tangle free 🙂
When asked if I would like to write on behalf of ghd I was more than happy to oblige as I am an avid fan of my ghd. Then to my delight a brand new limited edition ghd wonderstyler gift landed in my lap! Yipee!! So on that note, I said goodbye to my 5 year old ghd Gold Classic styler – that is still in perfect working order – and hello to my new best friend.
The ghd wonderstyler is all I need when it comes to styling. It straightens, curls and helps perfect the most tricky of up-dos. When I first tried a ghd many years ago, I was most surprised at how smooth and soft my hair remained. The ghd wonderstyler’s smooth ceramic plates don’t damage your hair like other styling tools. It truly is like magic and I swear by it.
To smooth down your fuzz and create a sexy, nonchalant style (look as carefree as you feel) you will need your ghd, hairdyer, a couple of sectioning clips, paddle brush, comb & your favorite styling product.
1. Blowdry your hair until it is completely dry. I always run my paddle brush through as I dry to speed up the styling process. Section the top with your sectioning clips and switch on the ghd ensuring it remains on the heat resistant mat.
2. Taking one small section at a time, start a 1/4 of the way down and run your ghd straight to the ends. A tip I picked up at a recent ghd master class was to not clamp down to hard, the ghd will create style and definition without you needing too 🙂
3. Next, part your hair at the crown, separating the front from the back and then blowdry the front section downwards to create texture and movement around the face. My husband likes to make casual mention of my likeness to Chewbacca as I am doing this.
4. Now use the wonderstyler to create a couple of bends in the front section. You don’t want to create full curls here, just a couple of bends inwards and outwards to create natural movement. This is easy to do by yourself, just follow my instructions…
You too can create a nice natural texture with ghd that hints at irreverence and nonchalance but that is soft, shiny and a joy to run your fingers through.
Thankyou ghd. You have made my life so much easier 🙂
